The short version: a Twin Ports remodeling contractor’s website showed on page one of Google for 92 different searches in February 2026 and for 210 in September. In early October it ranked first for five of its main local searches. This report shows the numbers month by month, what we did, and what the numbers do not prove.
We built this client’s website and run its SEO. We don’t name the client, because we work with more than one local contractor and no client should find a competitor’s numbers on our site.
What we did
The work was content and structure, published on the site in 2026:
- 22 service-area pages, one for each town the contractor works in
- 38 pages pairing a main service with a town
- 25 pages for narrower services, such as one type of siding or one kind of deck
- 234 pages pairing those narrower services with a town
About 300 pages in all. Timing matters for reading the results: fewer than 40 of them were live before August. Most were published in August and September.
How we measured
| Page-one searches | Google Search Console, by month: the number of different searches where the site’s average position was 10 or better |
|---|---|
| Clicks and positions | Search Console, weekly, July 6 to September 28, 2026. We compare the first four weeks with the last four |
| Calls | The call button on the Google Business Profile, same 13 weeks |
| Rankings | A rank tracker reading on October 6, 2026 |
The results
Searches on page one, by month
| Month (2026) | Searches on page one | Of those, in the top three |
|---|---|---|
| February | 92 | 47 |
| March | 145 | 75 |
| April | 151 | 88 |
| May | 158 | 94 |
| June | 185 | 92 |
| July | 204 | 98 |
| August | 198 | 88 |
| September | 210 | 89 |
The total number of searches the site appeared for at all grew from 192 to 412 over the same months.
The 13-week window
| Measure | First four weeks | Last four weeks |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks from Google search | 67 | 88 |
| Clicks to the homepage | 58 | 82 |
| Average position of the homepage | 6.4 | 5.0 |
| Average position of the siding page | 14.0 | 4.3 |
| Website clicks from the Google profile | 87 | 105 |
In early October the site ranked first for five of its main local searches, handyman and window replacement among them, and in the top three for deck builder searches in two neighboring towns. The Google profile’s call button was used 105 times in the 13 weeks.
What did not move
- Calls from the Google profile were flat: 36 in the first four weeks, 31 in the last four.
- The map position did not improve. It averaged 9 at the start and 10 at the end. The gains were in the regular search results, not the map.
- Search appearances fell 14% across the window while clicks rose. Fewer, better-placed appearances earned more visits.
What this means for a local contractor
- Page one is many searches, not one. The gain came from showing for 118 more searches, most of them specific: a service plus a town.
- A page for each service earns its own ranking. The siding page moved ten places on its own.
- Search and the map are separate jobs. This campaign moved one and not the other. The map responds to the profile, reviews and distance, which is local promotion work.
- Give it months. The page-one count grew for five months before it levelled off.
Limits
- This is one business in one market. It is a record of what happened, not a controlled test.
- Most of the pages were published in August and September. The page-one growth from February to July happened before them, so their effect is not yet visible in these numbers.
- A remodeler’s year has seasons. Some of the summer movement would have happened anyway.
- We cannot tie revenue to this work. The client’s records attribute only a small share of its leads to organic search, so we make no revenue claim.
